UNH Police: Campus alert reports "attempted abduction"

Staff Reports
On Friday Aug. 29, at approximately 5 p.m., a UNH female student reported suspicious activity to the Durham Police Department. The reported activity occurred at approximately 1:45 a.m. the same day on Garrison Ave., between Strafford Ave. and Madbury Road.
According to a press release by the Durham Police Department, the female reported that she was approached by three males who attempted to persuade her into their vehicle, described as a silver, four-door sedan — possibly a Nissan — with South Carolina license plates. The males were described as white. One about 5 foot 8 inches with a muscular build and possibly wearing a red t-shirt. Another was described as being tall and skinny. The third was described wearing a white t-shirt.

UNH Police released a campus alert Friday evening at approximately 8:29 p.m. notifying students of the reported incident. UNH Police described the incident as an “attempted abduction” in the email alert. Durham Police are describing the incident as “suspicious activity.”
The Durham Police Department urges anyone with information regarding this incident to call at 603-868-2324.
