As their season approaches, the University of New Hampshire’s (UNH) women’s hockey team has their expectations set high. The University of New Hampshire women’s hockey team hosted the University of Maine Black Bears for a two-game series over the weekend. The games were played at the Whittemore Center in Durham. The Wildcats entered the game with a 1-3 record after picking up a win against Boston University in their last matchup.

UNH women’s hockey opened the season on Friday hosting Boston College at the Whittemore Center before heading on the road the following afternoon for a game at Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill. The Wildcats dropped each of their first two games by finals of 6-2 and 4-1 to the Eagles.

After an offseason of uncertainty, UNH hockey is back. There was much speculation if a season would ever have the chance to be played this year, but on Nov. 11 Hockey East released its tentative schedule for both the men and women. The women’s team have high hopes and will get the first chance to break in the ice at the Whittemore Center on Nov. 20.
