University of New Hampshire (UNH) Police Chief Paul Dean said there was never a threat to the campus community from the alleged social media post this past Saturday night and the University of Maine (UMaine) has settled their investigation of the case.

The Lee Police Department responded to reports of gunshots fired at the Lee Marketplace on Saturday, Oct. 17, according to a press release. Lee PD were dispatched to the area at 11:45 a.m. where they found a lone male with a handgun standing by a parked vehicle.
In response to alleged events at the Kappa Sigma house on Feb. 27, the fraternity appeared before the University of New Hampshire’s (UNH) Interfraternity Council (IFC) and was suspended for the rest of the calendar year and from having socials in 2021.
The University of New Hampshire (UNH) chapter of the Kappa Sigma fraternity has been suspended and is currently under investigation by the university and the Durham Police Department after a reported incident took place at their house last weekend.
