It’s fitting that University of New Hampshire (UNH) head coach Bill Herrion’s 200th career victory was highlighted by his favorite feature of this year’s Wildcats: depth. Saturday night in Worcester the Wildcats (3-2, 0-0) continued their promising start with a 70-55 win over the Holy Cross Crusaders (2-5, 0-0) with five different players scoring in double figures.

In their first true test of the season the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Wildcats (2-2, 0-0) certainly looked the part and made quick work of the Quinnipiac Bobcats (3-2, 0-0) by an 84-69 final. Senior forward Jayden Martinez was the difference maker for UNH and is showing early signs at a run for America East Player of the Year.

After a season where the Wildcats had the fourth-worst three-point percentage in the America East, it’s clear that Bill Herrion and his program are making an effort to be sure that’s not the case come next year. After picking up sophomore Sloan Seymour from George Washington University, Herrion has followed up with the additions of transfer student Marco Foster and incoming first-year sharpshooter A.J Lopez.

University of New Hampshire (UNH) men’s basketball announced last week that they have added sophomore sharpshooter Sloan Seymour by way of the NCAA transfer portal. Seymour spent this past season with The George Washington University (GW) and his freshman season at Siena College. With the addition of Seymour, however, comes the departure of All-Conference guard Sean Sutherlin.

In his first season as a Wildcat, senior guard Sean Sutherlin wasted no time getting to work. He finished the season averaging 12.8 points per game, 9.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists. His 9.3 boards were good for second best in the conference, and 7.6 defensive rebounds per game got him as high as 14th best in the nation.

DURHAM, N.H. – No. 3 University of New Hampshire (UNH) men’s basketball (10-9, 9-6) had to face No. 6 UMass Lowell (10-11, 7-8) in their fourth straight game to round out their 2020-21 campaign. The Wildcats hosted the River Hawks in the quarterfinals of the America East Tournament and saw their season come to an end at the hands of the conference’s top player, senior Obadiah Noel.

LOWELL, MA – University of New Hampshire (UNH) men’s basketball (10-8, 9-6) locked up the No. 3 seed in the America East Tournament with a win over UMass Lowell (8-11, 7-8) in their regular season finale. UNH was able to squeak out a two-point win in the final seconds against the same team that stole home court advantage from the Wildcats a season ago in the final game. The team has now secured a first-round bye and will host a playoff pod in Durham with No. 6 UMass Lowell and No. 7 Stony Brook (9-13, 7-9).
