Addition of Foster and Lopez latest in moves to improve three-point shooting

·

After a season where the Wildcats had the fourth-worst three-point percentage in the America East, it’s clear that Bill Herrion and his program are making an effort to be sure that’s not the case come next year. After picking up sophomore Sloan Seymour from George Washington University, Herrion has followed up with the additions of transfer student Marco Foster and incoming first-year sharpshooter A.J Lopez.

·

The victory gave the Wildcats an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament in what will be their fourth straight appearance. When the UNH Wildcats arrive in North Carolina they’ll be awaited by the Kentucky Wildcats (11-4-2, 3-3-1) who earned an at large bid into this year’s tournament.

After years of injuries, Pinkham finally gets his moment

·

DURHAM, N.H. – Chris Pinkham's goal secured the University of New Hampshire's third straight America East title. The junior's goal was a clinical piece of attacking play. A thunderous strike into the top netting. This meant an automatic bid for the Wildcats into the NCAA Tournament, but for Pinkham, it meant a great deal more.

Edelman calls it quits after 12 seasons

·

Foxborough, Massachusetts is a town built by underdogs. A franchise that nearly folded and moved, a sixth-round quarterback in Tom Brady and a seventh-round QB turned wide receiver in Julian Edelman. Edelman was in every fiber of his being an underdog. He stands at only 5-foot-10, wasn't invited to the NFL combine and was the 232nd overall pick. Nothing about Edelman in 2009 said he was going to be one of the greatest postseason receivers the game has ever seen – he was.

Wildcats forced to withdraw from the America East Tournament

·

DURHAM, N.H. – Just one week after clinching a playoff berth in the final week of the regular season, coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns forced the University of New Hampshire (UNH) women's soccer team (5-2, 2-2) to withdraw from the America East Tournament. The timing of the outbreak couldn't have been worse for the Wildcats. UNH had managed to avoid an outbreak this season, but with the America East Semifinal set to be played Thursday, the positive tests meant a withdrawal from the season.

Junior Hailey Lui and sophomores Kylie Gorgenyi, Robyn Kelley and Alyssa Worthington were the only UNH gymnastics (9-3, 5-1) athletes able to compete in regionals after the teams ranking fell to 38 in the nation with only the top 36 advancing to the championship.
