With the score knotted at zero, that was all that separated the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Wildcats women’s soccer (6-9-4, 4-4-1) and the University of Vermont (UVM) Catamounts (12-5-1, 7-2-0) from overtime Sunday afternoon. Regulation had been ambivalent to UNH, while overtime had been kind to them. Their road to the America East Championship involved back-to-back shootout victories.

ALBANY, N.Y. – First-year quarterback Brody McAndrew got the start on Saturday over sophomore Bret Edwards for the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Wildcats (3-6, 2-4). The rookie’s inexperience bled through, however, as the Wildcats found themselves playing catch-up with UAlbany (1-8, 1-6) and their senior running back Karl Mofor all afternoon. The 20-7 loss for New Hampshire extends their losing streak to six games and likely their playoff drought to a fourth consecutive season.

LOWELL, MASS. — The University of New Hampshire (UNH) Wildcats (15-0-2, 7-0-1) have gone undefeated and is one of just two teams in the nation to do so. The Wildcats sawed off the UMass Lowell (UML) Riverhawks (4-11-1, 3-5-0) Monday night by a final score of 1-0. The narrow victory never felt that close with UNH in the driver’s seat for most of the night. Graduate student Paul Mayer bagged the game winner for his fifth goal of the season.

ELON, N.C. – It was a handful of their usual struggles that manufactured a 24-10 loss for the University of the New Hampshire (UNH) Wildcats (3-4, 2-2) at the hands of the Elon Phoenix (4-3, 3-1). The offense’s inability to capitalize in the red zone, on third down, and suspect special teams play were the difference makers in New Hampshire’s fourth straight loss.

DURHAM, N.H. – All bad things must come to an end. This was the case for the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Wildcats (1-5-1, 1-5-1) this past Friday. The Wildcats finally found their first win of the season when they hosted the University of Maine Black Bears (2-6-0, 0-3-0). Senior Goalie Ava Boutilier helped secure the win for the ‘Cats by recording 30 saves, including 12 in the third period for a .968 save rate. The final score in the Whittemore Center was 4-1.
