Far from the usual pageantry of M&T Bank Stadium, the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) hosted their annual media day via Zoom on Tuesday afternoon. Commissioner Joe D’Antonio kicked off the media availability speaking about the logistics of the upcoming fall season for the CAA and the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).

DURHAM, N.H. – In an unprecedented season, the University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team is about midway through their season – one that hasn’t been too kind to them. They currently sit at 3-7-1, which has them sixth in the Hockey East above UMass Lowell, UMaine, Boston University, UVM and Merrimack, who have all played less games than the Wildcats.

The pressure was on after falling to .500, and a date with the then conference-leading Stony Brook Seawolves (6-6, 4-2) on the horizon.

The University of New Hampshire women’s basketball team (4-9, 4-6) split a two-game series with Stony Brook (6-4, 4-2) over the weekend. The Wildcats looked sharp in game one, winning 52-49, but ran out of steam the following day, falling 64-41. This split marks the third series in a row in which Kelsey Hogan's squad has won game one and been defeated in the second leg.

Unfortunately for the ‘Cats, the weekend didn’t go according to plan as they went on to get swept by the Huskies.

The UNH Wildcats men’s basketball team (4-3, 3-1) traveled to Orono, ME for a weekend set with the Black Bears (1-4, 1-3) on the heels of a two-game sweep of the Hartford Hawks to start their conference schedule. UNH remains plagued by injuries to their top-end talent but juniors Marque Maultsby and Jayden Martinez took on the team’s top scorer role as they split two games with UMaine.

UNH pulled off their upset of the season with a 58-57 win over the 5-0 UMaine Black Bears before falling 76-56 in the second game of the two-game series. The Wildcats came in as heavy underdogs but managed to squeeze out a win in the closing seconds thanks to a pair of clutch free throws from senior guard Amanda Torres. The win snapped UNH's nine game losing streak versus the Black Bears.

After dropping a game to No. 9 ranked UMass, the University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team looked to get back into the win column against a tough UConn team. The Wildcats entered the weekend with a 1-1-1 meanwhile the Huskies entered with a 2-4-1 record after securing a win against the Providence Friars.
