The University of New Hampshire’s Volleyball team had a three set sweep against the Le Moyne College Dolphins. They finished the first set 25-19, the second set 25-16, and closed out the game with a final set score of 25-19.
During warmups, head coach Christopher Feliciano shared what he wished to accomplish while facing the Dolphins. “We have played a lot of good matches and performed at a very high rate offensively with a lot of good attacks recently. Today, we are hoping to keep unforced errors to 8 percent and hold Le Moyne to .190 attack percentage,” he said.
The Wildcats put up a hard attack line with Lindsey Kriendler contributing 12 kills, Rachel Grier 8 kills and Meredith Hohnbaum with 7 kills, which contributed to a total of 41 team kills. The Wildcats continue to prove themselves offensively in each game they have played and will bring those hard swings and big blocks to the America East Conference.
Le Moyne came into the third set determined and put up a fight. The Wildcats were down in the beginning of the set, Dolphins led the set 3-0. The third set went back and forth between points, but the Wildcats quickly bounced back and were able to lead with strong serves, big blocks, and tip coverage which all contributed in sealing the win.
The game against Le Moyne College was the last game the ‘Cats will play before entering the America East Conference series. Returning player Kelly Kaufmann stated, “Our conference schedule is super tough and I think that really helps us build momentum. A lot of our non-conference games have given us a lot of good experience going into the conference games. Our goal for the season is gonna be to take it one game at a time and to win the conference.” The Wildcats enter the America East Conference series in high hopes and determination to advance in the series.
