America is a great country and we should all consider ourselves very lucky to live in it. We were the country that put people on the moon, we were the country that was the driving force behind freeing Europe from Nazi-oppression, we were the country that helped feed Europe after the second World War. Our country was one of the greatest of all time and we can be again. “A great shining city upon a hill, leading the way and brightening the world once more.”

We are once again at a critical/watershed point in our country’s history. This time it is our generation’s turn to decide what we want the America of the future, our America, to look like. We are the “logged-in” generation that already has made huge changes to how our society functions. We are the generation of Facebook and Twitter; the generation that isn’t obedient to old out-dated ideas, but the generation that strives and is hungry for innovation.

Getting America back on-track and returning its standing as being the greatest country in the world, the champion of freedom and equality that it was in the past is not going to be easy. However, we as a generation have the opportunity to set it back on that track. We can make sure that our country will prosper and that freedom, as we know it, will prevail.

Many think our country is stuck — that there is no answer to the seemingly overwhelming problems before us. However, there is one decision we as a generation can make that is the first step towards a better future for us and for America.

That step is the decision to choose responsible leaders and place them in positions of power. To choose leaders that will work for the people and with the people to build our country. These leaders are Republican candidates and need your Republican vote.

The Republican party is not a stagnant body of politicians, it is a vibrant and changing group of interested and active members. There is a constant debate on the issues and the decisions that have to be made. There is no obvious choice, no Washington bureaucrat dictates what we have to believe in. There is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to being Republican. Republicans are people no matter what gender, race, ethnicity or social background.

In its most rudimentary form, Republicans all believe in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. In the idea that small government is good government, and that its purpose is to serve the people and only the people. And that you are the most qualified to decide what your money is to be spent on, and not the government.

The Republican party might not be the party of our fathers and grandfathers. It’s our party, it’s the party of the future, not the party of the past. There are estimates that by 2020, roughly 103 million Millennials will be living in the United States. And of those 103 million roughly 90 million will be eligible to vote. That is roughly 40 percent of the voting population! So, when we as a generation take this opportunity and select responsible leaders and support them, we can not only create a better future for us and for America, but also for future generations to come.
